The mission of the Appalachian State University Mountaineer Safe Walk service is to provide a safety escort service for students during the evening hours. The service area is strictly limited to university properties only (parking lots, residence halls and academic buildings), and is designed specifically to provide assistance to students who may feel uncomfortable walking alone after dark. The service is offered during the fall and spring semesters and is available from 9:45 p.m. - 2:45 a.m., seven days a week, excluding university holidays and both summer sessions.
